For those who missed it and for us to reflect…

Family and friends – we are gathered here today to witness the formal joining in the legal state of matrimony of this man and this woman.

Marriage is not just a legal document. A marriage is the promises made and kept between two individuals. Today, Barry Fraser Curtis and Paula Richele Cooke stand before us in a desire to publicly declare their love for each other and to share with us their marriage promises.

Barry, please repeat after me:

I solemnly declare that I do not know of any lawful impediment why I, Barry Fraser Curtis, may not be joined in matrimony to Paula Richele Cooke.

Paula, please repeat after me:

Will you honour and respect her, give her strength, provide for her needs as best you can, grow with her in mind and spirit, always be open and honest with her and cherish her from this day on?

Barry: I will

as a seal, a confirmation and an acceptance of the vows you have made today.

Barry, please place the ring on the third finger of Paula’s left hand and repeat
after me:

With this ring I wed you for today and always. Please wear it as a sign of my love for you.

These two lives are now joined in one unbroken circle. Wherever they go, may they always return to one another. May they grow in understanding and in compassion and may these rings symbolize the spirit of undying love in the hearts of them both.
